Espen Leite Skargengland was born in 1973. He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music, specializing in Argentine tango and contemporary music. He is also a composer and improviser who moves boundlessly across th entire musical spectrum.
Recently, he composed the music for Moira Buffinis „The Suicide“ in 2009 at the Norwegian State Theatre, he also composed the music for the stage version of „Terje Vigen“ (H.Ibsen), „Livet Lever“ (K.Hamsun) for a tour of Norway. Espen Skarpengland is engaged by „The National Stage“ of Norway to tour with three diffenerent music productions over next two years.
He has contrubuted on numerous CD recordings. In 2008 he started working with Anne Sofie von Otter which resulted in an Asian tour and an upcoming cd recording.
